As many readers will know, the 371st Fighter Group called Tantonville home for about two months during the war, from later December, 1944, into February, 1945. This was during the period of the Battle of the Bulge, as well as the launch of the last major German offensive on the western front in WWII, Operation Nordwind, in the Alsace and Lorraine area of northeastern France (think around Strasbourg).
