In 1943 the Army Air Forces, in cooperation with the Republic Aviation Corporation, produced a training film for the War Department designed as a pilot familiarization for the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt. Although geared for pilots, this 23-minute film is also informative for members of the ground echelon, family members, friends and aviation enthusiasts to gain insight into the design and capabilities of this war-winning fighter aircraft.
With the advent of the internet and websites like YouTube, this training film and many other interesting aviation training films are readily available for viewing. The link to this film is depicted below, but a word of caution. From time to time, videos are added and removed on websites, for various reasons, so if you are interested in this one, be sure to take a look sooner rather than later or it might not be there!
